Sister Ammie "Gracie" Thompson was born on November 28, 1949 to the late Luther and Ina Mae Thompson. She departed this life on Saturday November 9, 2024 at her home in Marion, South Carolina. 

Residing in Marion, South Carolina, Ammie attended the public school system of Marion, South Carolina where she graduated from Johnakin High School with the class of 1967. She also received a certificate for ward clerk from the Marion County Vocational School. She also attended Florence/Darlington Tech were she studied in business. Ammie worked numerous of years at Marvel Lighting, Supreme Lighting and Datwyler. She was a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and Morning Worship Services until her health failed. She was preceeded in death by five brothers Rev. Clarence Thompson, Rev. Johnny Thompson, Robert Thompson, Pastor JC Thompson and Deacon Willie Thompson two sisters Minister Rebecca Faulk and Clara Thompson. Ammie was a loving sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to whom ever that came to know her but most of all she loved the Lord and gave him her very best. She always had a smile on her face and loved the song "Christian Automobile" by The Dixie Hummingbirds. 

She leaves to cherish her loving memories two sisters: Elonora Thompson of the home and Mable(Cleveland) McCall of Marion, South Carolina; one brother Charlie(Gladys) Thompson of Rains, South Carolina; two sister-in-laws Deborah Thompson of Marion, South Carolina, Charlotte(Henry) Patterson of Lamar, South Carolina a host of neices, nephews, cousins and friends; Four special friends Jacqueline Crawford, Avis Freshwater, Polly Gerald and Lee Willie Rogers whom she grew close to.
