Jacqueline J Gerald

Jacqueline Jeanette “Butter Bean” Gerald was born on March 16, 1961 in Marion County, South Carolina to the late Robert Lee and Eva Mae Jenkins Thompson.  She departed the earthly life on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at her daughter’s residence in Mullins, South Carolina after a brief illness. 

Jacqueline graduated from Marion County Public School in the Marion High School Class of 1981. She later went to college and received a certificate in CNA and a certificate in pulp wood and Bull Dozier, worked at Marvel Lighting, and worked at a daycare center. 

.At an early age she joined St. Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church, Marion, South Carolina where she received her spiritual guidance. Jacqueline was on the choir and was a faithful member even when her health declined; she still pressed her way. She always said if I can press my way to the church house, I will be alright. 

Jacqueline was employed at Jenkins’ Nursing Home and the South Carolina Disabilities and Special Needs for several years.  While employed at the nursing home she did numerous jobs. 

Jacqueline was married to Anthony Gerald Sr. for thirty-four years and to this union two children were born. She was a good mother and faithful wife.  She always had a smile on her face, kept the faith, was a strong soldier, very humble and would help you in any way she could. Her favorite motto was “I will let the Lord fix it.”  The life that she lived spoke volumes for her even when she was at her weakest; she kept pushing, and always appreciated everything that someone did for her. 

Preceding her in death along with her parents: Eva Mae and Robert Thompson; two sisters: Janice “Dee” Thompson and Wanda “Birdy” Cokley; a brother: Robert A. “Pee Wee” Thompson; a nephew: Eric D. Thompson.  

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her loving memories ~ two children: son: Anthony Gerald Jr. and daughter: Shounda Gerald both of the home; two grand-daughters: Zay’asia Gerald and Jada Gerald; a sister: Beth Ann (Melvin) Goodman of Dalzell, SC; aunts: Mable (Cleveland) McCall, Elnora Thompson, Amy Thompson (whom reared her); two dear aunts: Deborah Thompson and Charlotte Patterson; uncle: Charlie (Gladys) Thompson; three special friends and caregivers: Cynthia “Nae” Fling, Doris Muckelvaney and Nicole Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends whom she loved.
