~ Obituary ~

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

John T. Williams, son the late Buster Grant and Priscella Finklea was born on May 31, 1946 in Marion County, South Carolina. In the afternoon on Thursday, March 12, 2020, God sent an Angel of Mercy for one of his children to come home.

He attended Terrell’s Bay High School, Centenary, South Carolina and later joined the United States Army where he furthered his education and training.

In 1966 he married his high school sweetheart Leanae and to this union three children were born. After his service to his country, he was an avid professional Truck Driver for several different companies. He joined the Greater Highway Church of Christ in Marion, South Carolina under the leadership of his great uncle Bishop R.F. Davis. He was a faithful member until his health begin to fail.

John was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Marie Williams Bates and Doris Heath.

John leaves to mourn and cherish his loving memories ~ his loving wife: Leanae Williams of Centenary, SC; one daughter: Cheryl Williams of Florence, SC; two sons: John T. Williams Jr. of Columbia, SC and Eric Williams of Nichols, SC; one sister: Dorothy Beauford of Chester, PA; two brothers: Brent (Veronica) McNair of Penns Grove, NJ, Oliver McNair of Villanoua, PA; two aunts: Pastor Daisy Washington and Lindora Legette of Chester, PA; a very dear cousin who was like a sister: Esther Merritts of Marion, SC; two special friends: Woodrow Green and Alfred Barr both of Marion, SC; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother-n-law: Robert L. (Diane) White of Marion, SC; two sisters-n-law: Roberta White and Christine Brunson both of Centenary, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
