Pasty Posch Grice affectionately know as "Patsy Ruth" entered into a fuller and richer life with God on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her home. She was born on July 31, 1932, the daughter of the late Robert and Lenora Nelson. She received her formal education at the Marion County Training School and completed further studies at a school of Nursing. Upon her return to Marion, South Carolina, she became a member of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church and later joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where she worked faithful until her demise. Mother Grice was a member was a member of the Senior Choir, the Missionary Society, a faithful Sunday School and Vacation Bible school attendee and a willing church worker wherever needed.
Mother Grice was know for her feisty walk and stylish wardrobe. She felt a lady needed to be fully dressed and a representative of the occasion. Prior to fully retiring, Mother Patsy Grice shared her love for others while working with caregivers as a home health care attendant. During this time she touched many lives and made lasting friendships. She worked with the AARP Senior Program and assigned to the Neighborhood Legal Assistance Office as a part time secretary and had a pleasant voice when answering the phones and greeting clients. Also, during her early years she was avid international traveler.
Mother Grice leaves to cherish her memories a god-son: Bishop Joseph (Grace) Rogers of Accokeek, Maryland; one sister: Harriet (Robert) McFarland of Marion, SC; three brothers: Lenward Leroy Elliott of New York, Robert (Dana) Davis and Glen Davis both of Marion, SC; a special cousin: Patsy Burst of Wilmington, NC; five special grandchildren: Maurice, Joseph, Laticia, Solomon and Lorraine and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family, other relatives and friends.
