Early Monday morning, March 19, 2018 God’s angels came to give our mother/grandmother her wings. BornYoulanda Roslyn Graham on January 30, 1951 to the late Claxton and Rachel Graham in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was educated in the Philadelphia School District.
On December 2, 1967 she united in marriage to Leroy Dawson; from this union five daughters were born: Wenda Rachelle, Tara Lichelle, Shanai Yachelle, Lekeara Mechelle and Daune Trichelle - “the Dawson Girls.”
Lanny was employed in several clerical positions in Philadelphia, but her full time job was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved traveling; recently mainly making trips to North Carolina to visit family. Her past time was watching her soap operas. Lan, although small in stature, had a memory that surpassed others. She could run down any date from a birthday, anniversary or just any memorable event. “Spunky and Sassy” would define her perfectly.
Youlanda leaves loving memories with her daughters: Wenda (George), Tara, Shanai (Ramadan), LeKeara (Eric) and Daune; two grandsons: Alaunte’ and Jheron; seven grand-daughters: Tiara, Xaiyna, Xiya, Sanari, Eryn, Rhylee and Suhaila; two brothers-n-law: DeQuincy (Nina) and Earl; two sisters-n-law: Beaulah Mae and Betty Ann (Vernon); a special niece: Kiya; a special long-time friend: Flora Graves and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins (whom she admired dearly), other relatives and her long time friends.
